Dear Parents,

Our Extended Day Program has been revised with a new Program Outline for the new school year.  We are proud to offer this program for children whose parents are working full time.  Our goal as always will be to provide an after school care for children in grades K-6th in a safe, warm, friendly, faith-filled environment on school/parish grounds, staffed by familiar school members at reasonable prices.

The after care school session will be from 2:45 to 5:30 p.m. Attendance will be taken.  The afternoon will be planned with designated intervals for homework time, snack time, playtime (games: cards, board games etc.), outdoor play time (weather permitting), and movie/coloring/storytime/studytime, etc. The schedule will enable each child to participate in enriching programs, supervised play and homework time.

Upon every student’s exit, a parent or guardian must sign him or her out each day. The aftercare program is located in the Youth Room of the Parish Center.

There is a one time $25.00 registration fee per family.

*If your child is going to be a DROP IN for the day the price per day is $20.00. However, we must know on Friday before the following week which day your child will be a drop in so that we had adequate staffing for the numbers that day.

* If your child needs the service due to an unforeseen emergency situation: Missed bus, traffic, family emergency ect. The price per hour: $10.00.  The Business office will bill at the end of each month.

We are NO LONGER ALLOWING children who are waiting for brownies/girl scouts, band members and students who were serving a detention.  This enlarges the number of students in our after care program to a number that we do NOT have staff to accommodate and provide proper supervision. Unless, your child is planning to be a regular on those days and we know in advance, it’s paid for, and then we can provide adequate staffing. This is a supervision and safety issue.

We are REQUIRING that if you are picking up one sibling and another is also in the after care program that both children be picked up at the same time. This program was NOT designed to be an after school play program, we do not have the facilities and the staff to accommodate such needs. Currently, we would like to encourage its use for full-time working parents and the occasional emergency situation.

Our staff does not get paid for anytime after 5:30 pm, so it isn’t fair for them to have to stay beyond that time. However, we are all well aware that emergency situation do come up, we are more then willing to help out in those rare situations.

The Business office will bill at the end of each month. This program follows the same procedures as the tuition program.  Therefore, we do not reimburse or deduct for those days when a child is absent or there is no school.

GUIDELINES:

In order to make each child’s experience a pleasant one, the following guidelines will be implemented.  Please review them with your child.

Please send an after care snack and drink with your child since the day is long and snack is important to them.
If your child becomes ill or has a fever, you will be contacted and asked to pick him or her up immediately.
After school care services are provided until 5:30 p.m.  Every child MUST be picked up by this time. If for any unforeseen reason you are unavoidably late, please call the Director to alert him or her in case of an absolute emergency. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU MUST CALL TO INFORM THE PROVIDERS IF YOU ARE UNAVOIDABLY DETAINED! Your child’s safety is first and foremost, and we must adhere to policy. The late fee is $1.00 per minute, payable upon coming in for your child. If it is not paid we will no longer provide this service to you and your child.
Please stress upon your child that we have rules that they must abide by for their safety and the safety of others. If a child can not abide by the rules and the Director needs to speak to the parents more then twice we have the right to ask that child not to return and cease services.
