Academy kicks off Calendar Raffle, announces 1st winner

SPARTA — The Catholic Academy of Sussex County kicked off its Calendar Raffle on Friday at Pope John XXIII Regional High School. For the month of October, the Calendar Raffle is sponsored by the Pope John Endowment.
With all students from Pope John High School, Pope John XXIII Middle School and Reverend George A. Brown Memorial School on hand during a pep rally, the first winning ticket that was pulled belonged to Mrs. Nurgal Okuyan. Okuyan will receive $500 and have her ticker re-entered into the raffle. 
Tickets will be drawn every day from now until March 31, 2020. 
Also, freshman Brandon Hiltz received a $50 gift card for selling the ticket.
In addition, Pope John Middle School fifth grade student Kamille Vance has sold the most tickets in the entire academy by selling over 125.
